Project Overview
This project involved the full civil and structural design and build of the foundations for a 5MW gas peaking plant, including construction of an access road, acoustic fencing, security fencing, ducting, drainage and footpaths on a brownfield site.
Working with Limited Access
The site was situated in an area with limited vehicle access, which required meticulous delivery planning. Every delivery, lift and plant movement was programmed in advance and coordinated with the wider works to keep the site running safely and efficiently within a tight footprint.
Careful sequencing and close communication with our suppliers allowed us to maintain progress despite the access constraints, without compromising safety.
Managing the Wider Works
As the principal contractor, we not only carried out our contracted civils balance-of-plant works but also ensured the safe and efficient execution of other contractors’ tasks within Conrad’s supply chain, on their behalf.
